XAVIER B. BUSH

XAVIER B. BUSH

ABOUT XAVIER B. BUSH

Born in France in 1971, French artist Xavier Bush was introduced to the art world at a young age. His grandfather, an impressionist painter, was the founder in 1946 of one of the largest artist associations in France at the time, “le Groupement des Artistes Independants”.

Bush began working with pencil and oil in the 1990’s. He eventually joined his grandfathers' artist association and participated in several exhibitions where he first showed his work.

Graduating from Academie de la Grande Chaumiere in Paris in 1994, he pursued a career in Interior Design before becoming a full-time artist in 2011. Moving to Hong Kong three years ago with his partner, Bush found a new inspiration to nurture his love for abstract painting.

In his recent solo exhibition in Hong Kong, the "Urban Lighting Series", Bush  explores the interplay between pervasive artificial light and the shimmer of the pollution it illuminates. " A cityscape lends itself to the construction and deconstruction of space, shape and color", explains Bush. "My fascination with light - how it captures, reveals and enriches the scenes that we build and create - is the continuing theme of my exploration”.

The artist explores multiple perspectives and dimensions of cityscape - and how each can create different forms and shapes that lead to envision our own imaginary world.
