Establishing the Budget -
Graphic Encounter Fine Art, headquartered in Aspen, Colorado and Los Angeles, California, was engaged by the Interior Design Firm Design 360 International, Santa Monica, California, to custom design original imagery for the public areas and guest rooms for the historic Carmel Mission Inn, located in Carmel, California.
Although there was no precise artwork budget established for the 2020 renovation, our design and fabrication directive, was to create unique Big Sur coastal imagery, portraying the serene and extraordinary beauty of the Los Lobos / Carmel area. Additionally we created vibrant and moving auto racing images, that would honor the historical nature of the racing venue at Laguna Seca raceway, located in Monterey, California.
The Design Narrative -
Design 360 International, with offices in Santa Monica, California, is a well respected Interior Design firm, specializing in high-end hospitality projects throughout North America. Dean Singer, President of Design 360 International, engaged Graphic Encounter Fine Art, to create unique Big Sur coastal imagery, portraying the serene and extraordinary beauty of the Los Lobos / Carmel area. The Custom Art Curation -
David Jordan Williams, creative director for GEFA, worked closely with the principals of Design 360 International, including Dean Singer, its President, to create the guest room / wall mural imagery, that depict the areas around Carmel Mission Inn and the historic Laguna Seca Raceway.
Fabrication -
Our design department created these images to be printed on a variety of substrates, including #2 wall vinyl for the large expressive wall graphics for the public areas, and Dibond aluminum for the small format imagery for the guest rooms.
